Calgary - The documentary Down the Lane, produced by European filmmaker Marijn Poels, will celebrate the official world première during the 11th annual Picture this…international film festival Canada in February 2012. The film will be screened during the Gala Award Evening and the day after at the festival.

Berlin - The Dutch documentary maker Marijn Poels traveled in July this year to Mumbai, India where he needed to be on a domestic flight to Bhubaneswar. The immigration stopped the filmmaker. Poels was blacklisted and, despite the necessary visas and papers he was not allowed to enter the country. |

Lahore - Dutch Filmmaker Marijn Poels has received the Voice of Peace medaille in the Pakistani city of Lahore. This prize is awarded annually to people in Pakistan who fight within Pakistan against terrorism, violence and defend the human rights. "Of course a great honor but I just did my job. Ignoring important human rights issues due the fear is not right or at least not my style," said Poels.
